Based on data mining to explore the therapeutic methods and medication patterns of external treatment of tuberculosis of breast in ancient books of Qing Dynasty
Objective Based on data mining technology,to explore the external treatments for lump in breast and the medication rule in ancient Chinese books of Qing Dynasty.Methods All the external treat-ments appearing in the surgical monographs of Qing Dynasty included in National Library of China(Ver-sion V6.16)were classified and summarized,and the meridian distribution,the property and flavor and the efficacy of the top 30 Traditional Chinese medicines(TCM)in terms of frequency were counted by using the software of the Cloud Platform of Ancient and Modern Medical Cases(V2.3.5),and the soft-ware carried out the cluster analysis,the association rule analysis as well as the association analysis on the high TCM.Results Eventually,a total of 10 Qing Dynasty surgical monographs were collected and exam-ined,and 4 types of external treatments were recorded,namely:external application,moxibustion,ther-motherapy and acupuncture.Among them,there were 13 relevant external prescriptions,53 major TCM,with a total frequency of 104 times,and 10 TCM with a frequency of more than 3 times.The top 3 were red lead,moschus and sesame oil.The efficacy of the drug was based on heat-clearing and detoxicating and removing heat to cool blood,diminishing stagnation by detoxification.The meridian distribution was mostly in the spleen,liver and heart.The 5 scents were predominantly pungent,bitter and sweet.The 4 natures of drugs were mainly warm,cold and calm.Analysis of the association showed that external drug treatments were divided into 4 categories,namely,clearing heat,drying dampness and purging fire,pro-moting blood circulation and resolving phlegm,eliminating swellings and astringent sores and regenerating muscles,promoting QI and activating blood circulation and dispersing knots.Correlation analyses revealed that the core prescription of the topical remedy was amber ointment.In addition,2 special types of herbs,sesame oil and animal drug,occurred more frequently in their topicals.Conclusion There are 4 different treatment methods for tuberculosis of breast in ancient books of Qing Dynasty.The medication rule of ex-ternal drug administration is based on the use of cold and warm,taking into account both the symptoms and the root cause,activating the blood and clearing and dispersing,and the use of aromatic solvents and blood and flesh sentient products.
