Objective To explore the correlation between prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of fetal renal pelvis widening, chromosomal abnormalities and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Methods Retrospective analysis of clinical data of fetuses diagnosed with widened renal pelvis by prenatal 2-dimensional ultrasound at the hospital from June 2021 to June 2023.According to the presence of other ultrasound abnormalities, the group was divided into isolated renal pelvis widening group(n=84)and non isolated renal pelvis widening group(n=27).The isolated renal pelvis widening group was further divided into mild, moderate, and se-vere groups based on the degree of renal pelvis widening. The differences in fetal chromosomal abnormali-ties and adverse pregnancy outcomes between different groups were compared. Results Among 111 fetu-ses,there were 4 cases(4.76%)and 5 cases(18.51%)of chromosomal abnormalities in isolated widening group(84 cases)and non isolated widening group(27 cases),respectively. The adverse pregnancy rates were 8 cases(9.52%)and 12 cases(44.44%),respectively,and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).The rates of fetal chromosomal abnormalities in the solatedrenal pelvis widening group were 0%,11.11%and 3.22%,respectively,and the rates of adverse pregnancy were 0%,11.11%and 16.12%,respectively.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion When the re-nal pelvis widens and other ultrasound abnormalities are present, the rate of fetal chromosomal abnormali-ties and adverse pregnancy increases accordingly. There is no significant correlation between the degree of isolated renal pelvis widening and the rates of chromosomal abnormalities and adverse pregnancy.
