Effects of femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK)and laser subepithelial keratomileusis(LASEK)refractive surgery on cornea and anterior chamber morphological changes in patients with high curvature myopia
Objective To analyze the morphological changes of cornea and anterior chamber after femtosec-ond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis(FS-LASIK)and laser subepithelial keratomileusis(LASEK)in high curvature myopic eyes. Methods A total of 75 myopic patients(150 eyes)who underwent refractive surgery in the hospital from May 2021 to February 2022 were included in the study.According to corneal curvature, the patients were divided into control group(normal curvature,30 cases)and observation group(high curvature,45 cases). All patients were treated with FS-LASIK or LASEK refractive surgery. The patients were followed up for 1 year after surgery. The clinical efficacy, corneal morphology, anterior chamber morphology, ocular surface status and safety were compared between the 2 groups. Results There was no significant difference in clinical efficacy and safety between the 2 groups(P>0.05).There was no sig-nificant difference in anterior chamber depth(ACD),anterior chamber volume(ACV)and anterior cham-ber angle width between the 2 groups before the surgery,1,3,and 12 months after the surgery, and the change of anterior chamber angle width between 12 months after the surgery and before thesurgery(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the change of posterior surface curvature between the 2 groups at 1 month,3 months and 12 months after the operation and before the operation(P>0.05).The tear film break-up time(BUT)and schirmer's test(LST)in the 2 groups were decreased, while corneal fluorescein staining(FL)and ocular surface disease index(OSDI)was increased after surgery(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Both FS-LASIK and LASEK are safe and effective for myopia patients with high and normal curvature.
