Correlation between waist-to-height ratio,pulse oxygen saturation and bone metabolism-related indicators with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)
Objective To explore the correlation between waist height ratio,pulse oxygen saturation,bone metabolism and obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)combined with type 2 diabetes mel-litus(T2DM).Methods 92 patients with T2DM combined with OSAHS who were treated in the hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected(T2DM combined with OSAHS group),while 100 pa-tients with pure T2DM(T2DM group)and 100 healthy volunteers(healthy group)were selected.The waist circumference to height ratio,pulse oxygen saturation and bone metabolism related indicators of 3 groups of the patients were compared.Compare the differences in the above indicators among T2DM pa-tients with OSAHS of different severity levels.Results The waist to height ratio,type Ⅰ procollagen ami-no terminal peptide(PINP)and type Ⅰ collagen carboxyl terminal cross-linked peptide(CTX)levels in the T2DM combined with OSAHS group were higher than those in the T2DM group and healthy group(P<0.05),while the lowest pulse oxygen saturation and vitamin D(VitD)were lower than those in the T2DM group and healthy group(P<0.05).The waist height ratio,PINP and CTX of severe OSAHS patients were higher than those of mild and moderate OSAHS patients(P<0.05),while the lowest pulse oxygen saturation and VitD were lower than those of mild and moderate OSAHS patients(P<0.05).The waist height ratio,PINP and CTX were positively correlated with the severity of OSAHS(P<0.05),while the lowest pulse oxygen saturation and VitD were negatively correlated with the severity of OSAHS(P<0.05).WHtR and minimum pulse oxygen saturation were the influencing factors for the occurrence of T2DM combined with OSAHS(P<0.05).Conclusion The patients with T2DM combined with OSAHS have significantly increased waist to height ratio,PINP and CTX,while the lowest pulse oxygen saturation and VitD are significantly decreased.These indicators are related to the severity of OSAHS.
