Diagnostic value of electronic bronchoscopy and brush biopsy for bronchial tuberculosis
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of electronic bronchoscopy and bronchial brush in bronchial tuberculosis.Methods The results of sputum tuberculum smear,electronic bronchoscopy,and bronchial brush were analyzed in 48 patients with bronchial tuberculosis before examination.Results Under the microscope,there were 28 cases of inflammatory infiltrating type(58.33％),4 cases of ulcer necrosis type(8.33％),9 cases of cicatricial stenosis type(18.75％),3 cases of granulomatous hyperplasia type(6.25％),3 cases of lymphatic fistula type(6.25％),and 1 case of tube wall softening type(2.08％).The positive rate for rapid culture using brush mycobacterium tuberculosis was 50％,while that for culture using brush mycobacterium tuberculosis was 60.4％.Conclusion Rapid culture of Mycobacterium tuberculosis through electronic bronchoscopy and bronchial brush is highly valuable in diagnosing bronchial tuberculosis.The positive rate for culture using the brush method is significantly higher than that for sputum smears.
