Constructing a Full Process Care Model for Late-Stage Tumor Patients'Peaceful Treatment and Care Based on CARES Tool for Project Achievement Type Quality Control Circle
Objective Based on the CARES tool,a project-oriented quality control circle is established to construct a full process care model for palliative care of advanced cancer patients.Method The quality control circle group led by the hospice care team of the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University has determined the activity theme of"Building a Full Process Care Model for Late-Stage Cancer Patients'Hospice Care Based on CARES Tools".Following the operational steps of the project completion type quality control circle,based on current situation investigation,the whole process care model for late-stage cancer patients'hospice care was constructed from personnel,systems,processes,and other aspects.Result After the implementation of the activity,a full pro-cess care model for palliative care for advanced cancer patients was initially constructed.The effective rate of pain control for advanced cancer patients increased from 90.54%to 98.52%,the improvement rate of dyspnea increased from 60.53%to 87.10%,the improve-ment rate of delirium increased from 21%to 55.66%,and the moderate to severe burden level of caregivers for advanced cancer pa-tients decreased from 72%to 46.15%.The penetration rate of ACP has increased from 10%to 25.74%.Circle members improved their professional knowledge,motivation,quality control techniques,and team cohesion abilities.Conclusion Based on the application of CARES tools,the construction of a quality control circle for the entire process of hospice care for advanced cancer patients provides ef-fective support for patients and their caregivers,while promoting the promotion and progress of hospice care work.
