Prediction of postoperative intervertebral space infection in lumbar disc herniation by preoperative expression of interleukin-6/interleukin-10
Objective To explore the predictive value of preoperative expression of interleukin-6/interleukin-10 for postoperative intervertebral space infection in lumbar disc herniation.Method A case-control study was conducted to collect clinical data of 24 pa-tients with postoperative intervertebral space infection of lumbar disc herniation admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to January 2023,and included them in the occurrence group. In addition, clinical data of 48 patients with lumbar disc herniation who did not expe-rience postoperative intervertebral space infection during the same period were collected and included in the non-occurrence group.By reviewing the medical records of patients with lumbar disc herniation, baseline data were recorded, and preoperative IL-6 and IL-10 values were collected from all patients, and IL-6/IL-10 values were calculated.Through the receiver operating curve(ROC),the predic-tive value of preoperative interleukin-6/interleukin-10 expression on intervertebral space infection after lumbar disc herniation was discussed.Result The hospitalization time, preoperative IL-6,preoperative IL-10,and preoperative and postoperative IL-6/IL-10 levels in the occurrence group were higher than those in the non-occurrence group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).According to the correlation results of point two, there was a positive correlation between preoperative interleukin-6,preoperative inter-leukin-10,preoperative interleukin-6/interleukin-10,and postoperative intervertebral space infection in lumbar disc herniation(r>0,P<0.05).The ROC curve was drawn, and the results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of preoperative interleukin-6/interleu-kin-10 for predicting postoperative intervertebral space infection in lumbar disc herniation was 0.723,which had certain predictive power. Conclusion The expression of interleukin-6/interleukin-10 before surgery has a good predictive effect on the occurrence of postoperative intervertebral space infection in lumbar disc herniation, and the higher the value, the greater the possibility of postopera-tive intervertebral space infection.
