Analysis about related factors of lymph node metastasis in middle-aged and elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with papillary thyroid cancer
Objective To explore the influencing factors of lymph node metastasis in middle-aged and elderly patients with type 2 diabetes and papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods A total of 213 cases of type 2 diabetes complicated with papillary thyroid carcino-ma who were hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2018 to October 2020 with complete clini-cal data were included.General data and examination results of the patients were collected, and they were divided into metastatic group and non-metastatic group according to whether lymph node metastasis was present, and clinical data of the two groups were compared.Risk factors were analyzed by unconditional Logistic regression model. Results Univariate statistical analysis showed that the differ-ences in gender, lactic dehydrogenase, superoxide dismutase,TAP,tumor location, tumor diameter, and ultrasound grade were statisti-cally significant between the two groups(P<0.05).Further intra-group analysis of the differences in superoxide dismutase between the two groups showed that the level of superoxide dismutase in the lymph node metastasis group was lower than the normal level. The differ-ence was statistically significant(P<0.0167).Logistic regression analysis showed that gender,TAP and tumor location were the factors influencing lymph node metastasis. Conclusion Among Middle-aged and elderly men with type 2 diabetes and papillary thyroid carci-noma,those undergoing elevated TAP,and bilateral tumors are more likely to have lymph node metastasis.
