Efficacy analysis of microwave and botulinum toxin in the treatment of bromhidrosis
Objective To compare the clinical effects of microwave and botulinum toxin type A injection in the treatment of brom-hidrosis.Methods The clinical data of 78 patients with bromhidrosis were retrospectively analyzed.According to the treatment method, they were divided into microwave group(41 cases)and botulinum toxin group(37 cases),and the curative effects were followed up at 3 months,6 months and 9 months, respectively. Results After 3 months, the effective rate of both groups was 100%,and the recovery rate of botox group was significantly higher than that of microwave group(100%VS 58.5%,P<0.01).After 6 months, the effective rate of microwave group was slightly higher than that of botox group(97.6%VS 89.2%,P>0.05),and the recovery rate of botox group was higher than that of microwave group(59.5%VS 53.7%,P>0.05).After 9 months, the effective rate of microwave group was significant-ly higher than that of botox group(95.1%VS 24.3%,P<0.01),and the recovery rate of microwave group was also higher than that of botox group(46.3%VS 21.6%,P<0.01).The incidence of adverse reactions in microwave group was significantly higher than that in botulinum toxin group(41.5%VS 8.1%,P<0.01).Conclusion Both minimally invasive therapies can effectively treat bromhidrosis, and each has its own advantages.
