Effects of biofeedback relaxation training combined with ear acupuncture on sleep quality and serum neurotransmitter levels in elderly patients with ischemic stroke and primary insomnia
Objective To investigate the effect of biofeedback relaxation training combined with ear acupuncture on elderly pa-tients with ischemic stroke complicated with primary insomnia. Methods 92 elderly patients with ischemic stroke combined with prima-ry insomnia admitted to our hospital from September 2020 to September 2021 were selected as the study objects and grouped by ran-dom number table method. In the basic group,46 patients were given biofeedback relaxation training, and in the experimental group, ear acupuncture was added on this basis.Sleep quality, sleep structure parameters and serum neurotransmitter levels were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of sleep duration, sleep efficiency, sleep disturbance, daytime dysfunction, sleep quality and sleep duration in experimental group were lower than those in basic group(P<0.05).Wake time(ATA)and sleep latency(SL)of experimental group were lower than those of control group, sleep efficiency(SE)and total actual sleep time(TST)of experimental group were higher than those of control group(P<0.05).The levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of norepinephrine(NE)were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Biofeedback relaxation training combined with ear acupuncture can effectively regulate sleep structure parameters, improve sleep quality and serum neurotransmitter levels in elderly patients with ischemic stroke complicated with primary insomnia.
