The effect of negative life events and social support on suicidal ideation in adolescents with bipolar depression
Objective To explore the relationship between negative life events and social support and suicidal ideation in adoles-cents with bipolar depression,in order to provide theoretical basis for suicide prevention and intervention.Methods From January 2023 to December 2023,186 adolescent patients with bipolar depression in the clinical psychology department of our hospital were se-lected.The suicidal ideation Scale(SIOSS),Adolescent Life Events Scale(ASLEC)and Social support Rating Scale(SSRS)were used to assess the suicidal ideation,negative life events and social support of the patients.Results(1)The scores of adolescent bipolar de-pression with suicidal ideation were higher than those without suicidal ideation in interpersonal relationship,learning stress,punish-ment,health adjustment and other factors.The difference was statistically significant(t=5.232,4.009,2.453,3.517,3.798;P<0.05);There was no significant difference in loss factor between the two groups(t=1.349,P>0.05).(2)The scores of subjective support,objec-tive support and objectivity utilization of patients undergoing adolescent bipolar depression with suicidal ideation were lower than those without suicidal ideation,with statistically significant difference(t=-4.299,-3.219,-4.132;P<0.05).(3)Interpersonal factors and pun-ishment factors were associated with suicidal ideation in adolescents with bipolar depression(OR=1.129,1.059;P<0.05).Conclusion Interpersonal disharmony and punishment are risk factors for suicidal ideation in adolescents with bipolar depression.
