The effect of low carbohydrate diet combined with aerobic exercise on blood glucose, body composition, and energy metabolism in obese T2DM patients
Objective To explore the application of low carbohydrate diet combined with aerobic exercise in obese type 2 diabetes(T2DM)patients.Method 98 obese T2DM patients were randomly divided into a diet+exercise group and a diet group, with 49 cases in each group. They were given a low carbohydrate diet combined with aerobic exercise program and a simple low carbohydrate diet pro-gram,respectively.Compare the blood glucose, lipid related indicators, body fat percentage(PBF),and total skeletal muscle mass(To-talSMM)of the diet+exercise group and the diet group before and after treatment;Calculate the blood glucose remission rate,compli-ance rate, and incidence of hypoglycemia. Results After treatment, both the diet+exercise group and the diet group showed significant improvements in various blood glucose, lipid related indicators,PBF,and Total SMM,with the diet+exercise group showing greater im-provement than the diet group(P<0.05);However,no significant differences were observed in the blood glucose remission rate and com-pliance rate between the diet+exercise group and the diet group(P>0.05).Conclusion A low carbohydrate diet combined with aerobic exercise can significantly improve glucose and lipid energy metabolism, weight loss, and regulate body composition in obese T2DM pa-tients.
