Study on the correlation between cardiac and cerebral angiography in evaluating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases
Objective To explore the necessity and clinical value of combined cardiac-cerebral angiography in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease. Methods Fifty-two patients with definite or suspected coronary heart disease or cerebrovascular disease were selected for cardiac-cerebral angiography to evaluate the number and degree of coronary artery and cerebrovascular steno-sis,and to explore the correlation between cardiovascular and cerebrovascular atherosclerotic diseases according to the results. Results All 52 patients completed cardiac-cerebral angiography, including 5 cases with simple cardiovascular disease,4 cases with simple cerebrovascular disease and 36 cases with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. There were 16 cases with single vessel,14 cas-es with two vessels and 11 cases with multiple vessels in patients with cardiovascular diseases, and 19 cases with one vessel,12 cases with two vessels and 9 cases with three or more vessels in patients with cerebrovascular diseases.Statistical analysis showed that coro-nary artery stenosis was significantly correlated with cerebrovascular stenosis(P<0.05),and the number of stenosis between them was also positively correlated(P<0.05).Conclusion Atherosclerotic diseases affect cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases at the same time, and there is a correlation between them.It is of great significance to improve the combined cardiac-cerebral angiography or CTA examination of coronary artery and head and neck in the daily diagnosis and treatment of such patients.
