Objective To investigate the cognition on COPD(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)of primary doctors of a divi-sion in southern Xinjiang, and to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of COPD.Methods in April 2023,141 prima-ry doctors from more than 20 hospitals in southern Xinjiang were selected by random sampling method to fill in a self-designed ques-tionnaire as the research objects, the questionnaire including three questions about general information, four questions about basic knowledge, six questions about diagnosis and nine questions about treatment of COPD.To investigate the accuracy of knowledge about COPD in primary doctors, and analyze the mastery in primary doctors.Results①All the cases(n=141)who participated in the survey re-turned responsive questionnaires, achieving a response rate of 100.0%.②In terms of basic knowledge, ten doctors(7.09%)answered cor-rectly,and most of them were not familiar with the factors affecting lung function(119/141,84.39%).In terms of diagnosis,Only three doctors answered correctly(2.13%),and the accuracy about groups for comprehensive disease assessment of COPD in 2023 GOLD was less than 10%(8/141,5.67%).In terms of treatment, two doctors(1.42%)answered correctly, and the doctors identified the triple therapy correctly were less than 10%(12/141,8.51%).A total of 115 doctors(81.56%)focused on following up and education and management with COPD.③Among the survey population, the cognition of COPD among assistant physicians(9/74,12.16%)and doctors with less than 5 years seniority(11/82,13.41%)was significantly lower than that of residents or above(23/67,34.33%)and doctors with more than 5 years seniority(21/59,35.59%),and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Primary doctors of the division have insufficient knowledge of COPD,and need to strengthen the training of COPD diagnosis and treatment norms, especially the doctors with low professional titles and new staff.
