Essential Oils Extracted from Juniperus Communis L.Fruits by Steam Distillation and Supercritical CO2 Extraction and Their Application in Tobacco
The essential oil of Juniperus communis L.fruits extracted by steam distillation and supercritical CO2 extraction were determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)and applied as tobacco flavoring. The results showed that the yields of essential oils A and B extracted from Juniperus communis L.fruits were 0.7%and 3.8%,respectively.Major compounds of the essential oil A were monoterpenes such as α-pinene(41.114%in mass fraction),while in the essential oil B were sesquiterpenes such as germacrene D(10.295%in mass fraction). The that of oxygenated compounds in essential oil B was higher than contents of A.Both of the essential oil A and B had the functions of enhancing the fresh fragrance features of tobacco, softening the smoke tone, increasing the diffusion of smoke and reducing tobacco offensive and irritating taste, and the essential oil B was better.
