GC-O-MS Analysis of Characteristic Aroma Components of Rhododendron Anthopogonoides Oil and Its Application to Cigarette
The essential oil of Rhododendron anthopogonoides was prepared by steam distillation, and the volatile components of Rhododendron anthopogonoides oil were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),and a total of sixty-nine compounds were identified.Meanwhile, nine characteristic aroma components with aroma intensity(AI)values greater than 3 were characterized by AI method and gas chromatograph-olfactometry(GC-O)analysis:leaf alcohol,(+)-calarene,α-selinene,phenethyl acetate, germacrene B,benzyl acetone,2-butenyl-benzene,atractyline and germacrone.Three of them, benzyl acetone, leaf alcohol and α-selinene were key aroma components with AI value>5.Then,the cigarette flavoring experiment was carried out with Rhododendron anthopogonoides oil injected into cigarette filter. The results showed that Rhododendron anthopogonoides oil could enhance the refreshing, sweet and flower aroma characteristics, harmonize with the smoke, delicate and soften the smoke, and increase the sweetness.
