Determination and Analyses of 37 Elements Including Lithium in 348 Batches of Commercial Cosmetics
Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to determine the content of 37 elements such as lithium in 100 batches of skin-whitening/anti-freckle cosmetics,62 batches of makeup base cosmetics claiming isolation effects,30 batches of talcum powders and 156 batches of smear-style masks from offline entity enterprises in 9 cities(prefectures)of Guizhou Province and the data were analyzed. In the range of 0-100 μg/L(Hg:0-4 μg/L),the linear correlation coefficients of 37 elements were greater than 0.999,and the recovery rates were 88.7%-115.3%.The detection limits were 0.004-4 μg/kg and the quantitative determination limits were 1-80 μg/kg.The results showed that the most of cosmetics containing more kinds and higher levels of elements contained soil, mineral and plant extracts in their compositions.
