Determination of Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol in Cosmetics by Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry with Isotope Internal Standard Dilution Technique
A method for the determination of cannabidiol(CBD)and tetrahydrocannabinol(THC)in cosmetics was established by using by a detection technology of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)and quantitative method using internal standard curve method. The sample was extracted with methanol after adding internal standards, diluted to volume, separated by high-performance liquid chromatography, and qualitatively and quantitatively detected by tandem mass spectrometry. They were separated by C18 column(100 mm×2.1 mm×3 μm).The multi reaction monitoring(MRM)mode was performed and the internal standard curve method was used for quantitative analysis. The results showed that in this method, the linear range of CBD and THC was 0.5-50 μg/L,the correlation coefficient was≥0.999,the detection limit was 5 μg/kg,the quantitative limit was 10 μg/kg.The average recoveries of CBD and THC ranged from 83.8%to 112.3%,and the relative standard deviation(RSD)was less than 10.0%.The method is stable, reliable, simple sample pretreatment, short analysis time, good sensitivity and accuracy. In the regulation of cosmetics, the gap in accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of CBD and THC has been filled. And it is suitable for the rapid screening of CBD and THC in cosmetics.
