Determination of Squalane in Cosmetics with Different Substrates by Gas Chromatography
A quantitative method for the determination of squalane in cosmetics with different substrates by gas chromatography was established.Different products were extracted by oscillating with n-hexane and water, the split ratio was 1:5,the linear correlation coefficient(r)>0.999,and the mass concentration of squalane had a good linear relationship in the range of 10-500 μg/mL.The detection limit of the method was 30 mg/kg,and the quantification limit was 100 mg/kg.The recoveries of squalane with water as the base were 100.3%-104.1%.The recoveries of squalane with emulsion matrix were 100.6%-104.6%.The recoveries of squalane in cream cosmetics ranged from 100.9%to 103.1%.Relative standard deviations(RSD)was less than 1.5%(n=7).Cosmetics purchased from the market were randomly selected for testing, and the measured values were close to the known concentration results, which all proved that the method met the precision and accuracy requirements for testing cosmetics with three substrates.
