Exploration of the Soothing Efficacy of Hydrolyzed Corn Starch
In order to study the soothing effect of hydrolyzed corn starch as a cosmetic raw material, the efficacy was tested by human immortalized keratinocytes and zebrafish models.Hydrolyzed corn starch down-regulated the expression of transient receptor potential vanilloid subfamily 1(TRPV1)induced by capsaicin and up-regulated the gene expression of calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP)at the concentrations of 0.05,0.1,0.2 g/L.Hydrolyzed corn starch at the concentration of 1.2 g/L could reduce the number of zebrafish tumbling induced by sodium dodecyl sulfate. At concentrations of 30.0,6.0,1.2 g/L,it could also reduce the aggregation of neutrophils in zebrafish. These results indicated that hydrolyzed corn starch had a soothing efficacy.
