Development of Exhausting Dynamic Headspace Solid Phase Extraction Apparatus
Based on the simple dynamic headspace solid phase extraction apparatus built in our previous study, this study changed the ventilation method from purging to exhausting, investigated the effects of exhausting gas flow rate, exhausting time, adsorption medium, desorption solvent and desorption process on the analytical results, and utilized gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to detect 7 synthetic aroma components. Finally, the optimized method was applied to the detection of volatile components of dried flowers of Osmanthus fragrans, resulting in greater number of detected substances and the total peak area compared with those of the previous method, indicating the apparatus developed in this study to be an economic, simple and effective solution for natural aroma components analysis.
