From February to October 2023,a questionnaire survey and the weighing method were used to study the daily usage and habits of 328 female cosmetics consumers in Shanghai during a 14 d survey period,covering 5 categories of cosmetics:shampoo,hair conditioner,body wash,facial cleanser and toothpaste.The results showed that the median of the average amount applied per application and per day of each product were:6.37 g and 3.02 g for shampoo,5.21 g and 2.10 g for conditioner,3.88 g and 2.84 g for body wash,0.54 g and 0.60 g for facial cleanser,0.79 g and 1.44 g for toothpaste.The results indicated that the exposure parameters of local women in Shanghai for rinsing cosmetics were lower than European and USA,and closer to Japan and Republic of Korea.When conducting cosmetic safety assessments in China,it is recommended to refer to the exposure data of local populations.
