There are many kinds and sources of bioactive peptides.They are often used as various functional cosmetic ingredients due to their characteristics of easy absorption,high efficiency and safety.In this article,the types of bioactive peptides,classified according to chemical synthesis,animal origin and plant origin were reviewed.The features and mechanism of representative bioactive peptide for each category were briefly described.Their applications in cosmetics,the future research direction and development prospects were introduced,combining with the current specific products both domestically and internationally.
