100 batches of eye makeup cosmetics were identified and analyzed to investigate the current status of the usage of prohibited colorants in domestic eye makeup cosmetics,according to Determination of 13 Kinds of Prohibited Colorants in Cosmetics:High Performance Liquid Chromatography(GB/T 34806-2017).Pigment red 53 was detected in 19 batches,the remaining 12 prohibited colorants were not detected,and the unqualified rate was 19.0%.According to the analyses of the cosmetic formulation components,it was assumed that pigment red 53 might be introduced into the products as an impurity from the synthesis of pigment red 57.It is recommended to strengthen the quality and safety supervision of banned colorants in eye makeup cosmetics and research on the quality control of raw materials.
