Contamination and Risk Assessments of Opportunistic Pathogens in Cosmetics
In order to evaluate the contamination of opportunistic pathogens in cosmetics, microbiological tests were conducted on 4 567 batches of cosmetics, and a preliminary risk assessment was conducted on opportunistic pathogens detected in qualified cosmetics.Among 4 567 batches of cosmetics,a total of 56 batches were found to be unqualified, among which a number of opportunistic pathogens were detected. In qualified cosmetics, opportunistic pathogens such as Burkholderia cepacia,Bacillus cereus, and Acinetobacter baumannii were detected.According to the Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications(2015 edition),even if the cosmetics are qualified, the presence of opportunistic pathogens is still a potential risk factor, and a risk assessment of the detected bacteria is needed to ensure the safety of the cosmetics.
