Domestic and Foreign Standards and Regulations for Stability Testing of Cosmetics
An overview of the principles,testing methods,evaluation criteria,and precautions for cosmetic stability testing in domestic and international standards such as the Technical Guidelines for Stability Evaluation of Cosmetics(Draft for Comments),T/GDCQMA 002-2023 Specification for Stability Testing of Cosmetics,ISO/TR 18811-2018 Guidelines for Stability Testing of Cosmetics,and the International Union of Cosmetic Chemists Fundamentals of Stability Testing were provided in this paper.The similar conditions specified in most standards for long-term storage tests,accelerated tests and freeze-thaw tests were also summarized.In addition to observing the samples,appearance,characteristics,microorganisms,and conventional physical and chemical indicators after accelerated testing,it was recommended to add the content of the main functional ingredients and easily degradable ingredients in the product,as control indicators for stability evaluation to ensure the efficacy of cosmetics throughout the shelf life.
