Determination of Fourteen Prostaglandin Analogues in Eyelash Cosmetics by UHPLC-MS/MS
A method of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry(UHPLC-MS/MS)for the determination of 14 prostaglandin analogs,including(-)-corey lactone benzoate,bimatoprost and chloroprostanol in eyelash cosmetics was established in this paper.The samples were extracted with acetonitrile using tetrahydrofuran as the dispersant,decontaminated with saturated sodium chloride solution,centrifuged,and filtered with the supernatant,then separated on a Poroshell 120 EC-C18 column(150 mm×3.0 mm×2.7 μm),and quantified by the external standard method with the mobile phase of 5 mmol/L ammonium formate(with a mass fraction of 0.1%formic acid)-acetonitrile.The method showed a good linear relationship in the range of 5 ng/mL and 50 ng/mL,with the limits of detection(LOD)within 0.8 μg/g,and the limits of quantitation(LOQ)within 3 μg/g.The average recoveries ranged from 81.9%to 119.7%,with the relative standard deviations(RSDs)less than 5%.The method is rapid,simple,sensitive,accurate,and suitable for the determination of 14 prostaglandin analogues in eyelash cosmetics.
