Determination of Four Ginger Extracts such as Zingerone in Massage Oil by High Performance Liquid Chromatography
High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to determine the contents of 4 components, including zingerone,6-gingerol,8-gingerol and 6-shogaol,in massage oil.The 80%(in volume fraction)methanol was used as the extraction solvent,acetonitrile-0.5%(in volume fraction)formic acid was used as the mobile phase for gradient elution and the target compounds were separated on a SymmetryShieldTM RP18(250 mm×4.6 mm×5 μm)chromatographic column, and qualitative and quantitative analyses were carried out by HPLC with PDA detector. The detection wavelength was 280 nm.The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min.The column temperature was 30℃.The injection volume was 10 μL.Under the experimental conditions, good linear relationships were obtained for 4 compounds in the range of 1-100.0 μg/mL,with recovery rates ranging from 82.5%to 117.9%and relative standard deviations(RSDs)ranging from 0.43%to 6.5%.This accurate and sensitive method is suitable for the qualitative and quantitative analyses of 4 ginger extracts in massage oil.
