Determination of Anti-dandruff Agent Selenium Disulfide in Cosmetics by Gas Chromatography
A method for the determination of selenium disulfide in cosmetics by gas chromatography was established. The sample was extracted with chloroform and purified with purified water, and then injected into an ultra-high inert split liner. The separation was completed on an HP-5 gas chromatographic column(30 m×0.32 mm×0.25 μm).The detection was accomplished by electron capture detector(ECD)or flame photometric detector(FPD),and external standard method were applied for quantitative analysis. The method showed good linearity in the range of 4-200 μg/mL.The limits of detection and quantification were 0.1 and 0.3 μg/mL for ECD,which was suitable for quantification. The limits of detection using FPD were 2 μg/mL,which was suitable for qualification. The spiked recoveries at 3 levels were 93.85%-117.53%,with the relative standard deviations(RSDs)of 1.92%-3.14%.This method is applicable to the determination of selenium disulfide in general shampoo cosmetics.
