2D NMR Study on the Chemical Structure of Natural Product Bergenin
The compound bergenin was isolated from the aerial parts of Bergenia purpurascens. All protons and carbons of the compound were assigned and its structure was characterized as 4-methoxy-2-[tetrahydro-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)pyran-2-yl]-α-resorcylic acid δ-lactone by using 1 H-1H DQF-COSY, 1 H-13C HMQC and HMBC. This work will be helpful to the chemical structure studies of the similar new Aryl C-glycoside compounds by means of NMR spectroscopy.
