Objective To compare the composition and ultrastructure of advanced platelet rich fibrin (A-PRF) and platelet rich fibrin (PRF),analyze the reason for the difference between A-PRF and PRF and provide reference for clinical selection. Methods The elbow vein blood was drawn from six healthy volunteers.A-PRF and PRF were prepared by standard method and were compressed into a film to receive HE dyeing and scanning electron microscope (SEM) specimen preparation. The difference between A-PRF and PRF was observed and recorded. Results The appearance of A-PRF and PRF after centrifugation and film compression showed no significant difference. After HE dyeing,A-PRF had a wider fibrin layer and included more cells, especially neutrophile granulocyte. There were more platelets and cells at the far end of A-PRF film leukocytic cream.Under SEM,A-PRF had greater fiber grid gap, more loose structure and more network cells than PRF.Conclusion A-PRF film has more loose fiber structure and more cells and provide more favorable stnuctural basis for the sustained release of growth factors.
