Objective To study the impacts of Danhong Injection on the blood glucose, coagulation function, erythrocyte parameters and islet function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) associated with hypercoagulable state in adjuvant therapy. Methods A total of 94 patients with T2DM associated with hypercoagulable state were selected and randomly divided into a control group and a combination group in a proportion of 1:1 (n=47,respectively).The control group was treated with conventional hypoglycemic therapy and the combination group was additionally treated with Danhong Injection. The changes in the blood glucose, coagulation function, erythrocyte parameters and islet function before and after the treatment between the two groups were compared. Results After the treatment, the levels of fasting blood-glucose (FPG),2 h postprandial blood glucose (2 hPG),and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) decreased significantly (P < 0.05);the prothrombin time (PT),thrombin time (TT),activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT),fibrinogen (Fib),platelet surface fourth factor (PF4) and soluble p selectin (CD62P) levels decreased significantly (P < 0.05);the erythrocyte deformation index increased significantly (P < 0.05);the erythrocyte aggregation index, erythrocyte electrophoresis index, erythrocyet index of rigidity and whole blood viscosity decreased significantly (P < 0.05);the FINS and insulin resistance level decreased significantly (P < 0.05),C peptide and insulin secretion index levels increased significantly (P < 0.05),and the changes in the combination group were greater than those in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Danhong Injection can significantly improve the blood glucose level and hypercoagulable state in patients, restore hemorheology level and regulate islet function, and has significant clinical significance in the adjuvant therapy for T2DM associated with hypercoagulable state.
