Objective To compare the Tei index and the detection results of Doppler tissue imaging (DTI) of the left heart function in patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy and hypertensive heart disease. Methods A total of 30 patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy,32 patients with hypertensive heart disease and 40 healthy persons who had received physical examination in the corresponding period were selected to constitute group D,group H and a control group respectively.Conventional echocardiography was taken to detect the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD),left ventricular enddiastolic diameter (LVEDD),inter-ventricular septum end-diastolic thickness (IVST),left ventricular posterior wall end-diastolic thickness (LVPWT) and mitral valve peak blood flow velocity E and A to calculate Tei index;in DTI mode, the peak velocity of interventricular septal systole (Sa) and ejection time (ET),inferior wall Sa and ET,early diastolic peak velocity (Ea) and left atrium contraction peak velocity (Aa) were detected. Results Compared with the control group, the LVEF and E in groups D and H decreased greatly (P < 0.05),while IVST and LVPWT increased significanfly(P < 0.05);compared with group H,the E in group D was much lower(P < 0.05).Compared with the control group, the Tei index, interventricular septum ET,inferior wall ET,Ea/Aa in group D increased obviously(P < 0.05),while interventricular septum Sa and inferior wall Sa decreased significantly (P < 0.05) and Tei index and Ea/Aa in group H increased significantly (P < 0.05);compared with group H,the Tei index, interventricular septum ET and inferior wall ET in group D increased obviously (P < 0.05),but interventricular septum Sa and inferior wall Sa decreased significantly (P < 0.05).Conclusion The left heart function in patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy decreases more greatly than that in patients with hypertensive heart disease.Tei index and DTI can be used to distinguish the two diseases.
