Preparation and Properties of Novel Stimuli-responsive Color-changing Polyimine Sulfone
The stimuli-responsive color-changing polymer materials prepared by physical doping and covalently linking small molecule color-changing dyes have the disadvantages of affecting the thermal stability of the polymer or complicated synthesis.4-bromo-4'-aminodiphenyl sulfone was prepared from p-nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride and bromobenzene, and polyimine sulfone was prepared by self-polymerization.The 4-bromo-4'-aminodiphenyl sulfone and polyimine sulfone yields were 45%and 90%,respectively.The structures of monomer and polymer were characterized by the infrared spectrometer and liquid nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. The properties of polyimine sulfone were characterized by an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, thermogravimetric analyzer, and differential scanning calorimeter. The results show that the color of polyimine sulfone will have high contrast change and reversibility when the external environment changes.Polyimine sulfone has excellent thermal stability. The 5%thermal decomposition temperature(T5%)and glass transition temperature(Tg)of polyimine sulfone are 463 ℃ and 245 ℃,respectively. The prepared polymer material does not need to add small molecule discoloration dyes and has a unique stimuli-responsive color-changing ability.
