Bacteriostasis,Stain Removing and Foam Stabilizing Properties of the Quaternized Konjac Glucomannan
In order to improve the bacterial inhibition ability of natural polymer foam stabilizers in foam detergent, quaternized konjac glucomannan was prepared by etherification and grafting modification using natural polymer konjac gum as raw material. The inhibitory effect and mechanism of modified konjac glucomannan on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, and the effect of modified konjac glucomannan on the foam stability and decontamination characteristics of foam detergent were studied. The results show that the minimum inhibitory concentration of quaternized konjac glucan against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus is 1.25 mg/mL,and the inhibitory mechanism is to affect the growth of bacteria by destroying the cell membrane. The addition of quaternized konjac glucan increases the foam stability of the foam decontaminant to 2.73 times the initial concentration, and the decontamination factor of foam detergent stabilized by quaternized konjac glucomannan for simulated radioactive uranium pollutants on the surface of ceramic tile panels, stainless steel panels, and glass panels are 3.13,1.86,and 1.95 times higher than that of the normal foam decontaminant.Quaternized konjac glucan has good antibacterial, foam stabilizing and decontamination properties.
