Research on International Practice and Chinese Path of Banks'Low-Carbon Transition
Under the global consensus to address climate change,low-carbon transition has become an impor-tant trend in sustainable development of global finance. The relevant initiatives and principles aimed to guide the low-carbon transition of financial institutions including banks have been constantly developed. These frameworks, initiatives and existing practices of banks are essentially based on the experiences of developed countries, with the main goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.In recent years, the green finance system in China has accom-plished significant development, with the banking institutions deeply taking actions under the concept of green de-velopment,continually enriching their green finance business and improving relevant capabilities. To better sup-port the"carbon peaking and carbon neutrality"targets,on the basis of analyzing the international practice of low-carbon transformation of banks, this paper studies and explores the path of low-carbon transformation of banks in line with the actual low-carbon development in China,so as to provide reference for banking institutions in China regarding low-carbon transition.
