Income Redistribution Effect of Commercial Medical Insurance
Using the data of the 2019 China Household Finance Survey(CHFS),this paper empirically analyz-es the income redistribution effect of commercial medical insurance,and discusses its mechanism.The research shows that commercial medical insurance can promote the positive income redistribution among groups and signifi-cantly alleviate the income disparity of individuals.Commercial medical insurance mainly alleviates residents'in-come inequality through the path of controlling catastrophic medical expenditure and improving physical health status,while commercial insurance compensation has the opposite effect on the path of improving physical health status.This paper takes the existing problems as the guide,draws on the relevant practical experience of Singa-pore,the Netherlands,the United States,Finland and other countries to enhance the income redistribution effect of commercial medical insurance,and puts forward optimization suggestions such as tapping the people's demand for participation in insurance,perfecting the development of product design,sounding the medical fee-control mecha-nism of the governmental agencies and the market entities,and implementing a multi-level health management strategy focusing on prevention.
