Study on photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ)using Bi2S3/NiS composite catalyst
Novel Bi2S3/NiS composite photocatalysts were prepared by hydrothermal method. The composition,structure,mor-phology,and optical properties of the catalysts were characterized in detail using FT-IR,XRD,SEM,solid-state fluorescence, and solid-state ultraviolet spectroscopy. The Bi2S3/NiS composite catalysts could effectively photocatalytic reduce Cr(Ⅵ)to Cr(Ⅲ)under visible light irradiation.Under optimal conditions, the reaction rate constant of the composite catalyst was about 10 times that of Bi2S3 or NiS.The efficiency improvement of photocatalytic reduction of Cr(Ⅵ)by composite catalysts was mainly due to the composition of Bi2S3 and NiS,which reduced the bandgap, improved the light absorption range, and effectively reduced the recombination efficiency of photo-generated carriers. The cyclic experiment showed that the Bi2S3/NiS composite catalyst had good optical stability. The research results provided a reference for the material synthesis and design research of photocatalytic treatment of Cr(Ⅵ)containing wastewater.
