Fruit Qualities and Carotenoid Contents of Niurouhong Mandarin from Different Areas
In order to explore the difference of fruit qualities and carotenoid contents of Niurouhong mandarin from different areas, Zhuhongju and it, s red-fleshed mutan-Niurouhong mandarin fiuits in Guizhou province were used.Fruit quality was tested, and eight types of carotenoid were determined by HPLC.The results showed that lycopene was not detected in flesh of Zhuhongju, the authors speculated that red-fleshed in Niurouhong mandarin was caused by lycopene accumulation.Fruit qualities from different areas were not significantly different except soluble solids and titratable acid, while most types of carotenoid content showed significant difference.The content of antheraxanthin, violaxanthin and phytoene in flesh and peel both showed significant difference, the results indicated that these carotenoid contents were influenced by different climate conditions.
