Study on Phenotypic Diversity of Malus baccata in Nyingchi
Four natural populations of Malus baccata were selected and investigated in Nyingchi,Tibet.Phenotypic diversities were analysised on the basis of traits such as the fruit, the leaf, and the flower. The results showed that, the variation coefficient of fruit mass was the highest in fruit traits (9.13 %-29.36 %),followed by the variation coefficient of length of carpopodium(4.67 %-17.11%).The variation coefficient of transverse length, vertical length and shape index were low.The fruit color of four populations were all red to dark red.In leaf traits, length of petiole had the highest variation coefficient, which was between 6.72 %-26.98 %.The second were leaf area and leaf thickness. The variation coefficient of leaf length, leaf width, leaf perimeter and leaf area were all below 10 %.In flower traits, the variation coefficient of filament length was the highest The second was of pistil length and flower diameter. In these populations, fruit mass of population 4 was highest(1.18 g),the flower diameter of population 3 was largest(39.77mm).Population 4 had the best population age structure.
