[Objective] Pot experiment was conducted to study the effects of different'sink'capacities on soluble sugar content in leaves, stems and sheaths as well as sucrose-related enzyme activities and expression of Rubisco and glutamine synthetase isogenes in sword leaf at late grain filling stage.[Method]Heavy panicle type and super high-yield japonica cultivar(Songjing 9) and multi-panicle type and high yield cultivar(Longdao 11) in cold region were used in this pot experiment, different cuttings treatments will carried out at grain filling stage, which is panicle free, half panicle, whole panicle.[Result] The decrease of'sink capacity'under the same'source'condition facilitated the increase of grain weight and maturity, and the filling time prolonged with the increase of'sink'capacity. The photosynthate will be accumulated firstly in leaves, stems and sheaths if sink is full, but photosynthates will be transferred to sink if sink is availabe. The more photosynthates were transported, the larger sink is.Moreover,SPS,AI,SuS activity decrease and their activities decrease from whole panicle, half panicle to panicle free. The activities of SPS,AI,SuS and Rubisco and glutamine synthetase isoforms increase as the sink capacity grows. The upregulation of Rubisco isogenes and glutamine synthetase isogenes promoted sucrose-related enzyme activity.[Conclusion] High yield and even overproduction of rice not only to build a large'sink'capacities but also to protect the filling time.
