Identification of WRKY gene family in Gardenia jasminoides and its expression patterns in response to salt stress
[Objective]The study aimed to further investigate the functional role of the WRKY gene family in regulating salt stress in Gardenia jasminoides and cultivate new salt resistant varieties.[Method]The WRKY gene family members of G.jasminoides(GjWRKY)were identified and analyzed by bioinformatics.[Result]The study identified a total of 47 WRKY genes, which were unevenly distributed on 10 chromo-somes.They were divided into Group Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ groups by phylogenetic tree. The GjWRKY gene family was mainly amplified by tandem re-peat,and most members of the gene family contained three exons. The 2000 bp region of the GjWRKY gene family promoter contained a large number of hormone and stress responsive cis-acting elements.46 GjWRKY genes had different degrees of high expression under moderate(MS)and severe salt stress(SS),and some GjWRKY genes had specific expression,17 GjWRKY genes expressions were up-regulated,sug-gesting that these GjWRKY genes may play a positive role in regulation.[Conclusion]The above indicates that the GjWRKY genes plays an important role in the salt stress resistance of G.jasminoides.
