There is a lack of integration between the overall and the specific spiritual researches in the study of the Chi-nese Communists'spiritual pedigree.This requires us to choose the pivotal spirit to conduct systematic research based on the level of grand narratives,which helps to bridge the gap between the study of specific spirits and the overall study of the spiritual pedigree.The spirit of the old liberated areas is one of the first batches of great spirits announced by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China.Its formation covers a wide spatial area and a long-time span,running parallel to the exploration of the Chinese revolutionary path,showing the significance and value of a pivotal spirit.The old liberated areas was the birthplace of the spirit.It refers to those revolutionary base area that were found in the period of the Agrarian Revolutionary War and the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,and the liber-ated areas in northeast China during the War of liberation under the leadership of the CPC.As an independent spirit of greatness,the spirit of the old liberated areas has been listed in the spiritual spectrum of the Communist Party of Chi-na,which aims to educate old revolutionary base areas that have not yet been refined with the spirit.The spirit is differ-ent from the specific spirit that formed in the New-Democratic Revolution period.They are not simply a relationship between the whole and the part,but a relationship between generality and individuality.The main contents of the spirit include four aspects:Following the party with firm faith,taking the overall situation into consideration with selfless,u-niting to overcome difficulties,and making improvement with hardworking.It's a vivid teaching material for the party's political construction in the new era,a red resource for cultivating new people of the times,and an endogenous driving force for rural revitalization in revolutionary bases.The study of the spirit of the old liberated areas inspires us to exam-ine historical cases from a grand historical perspective,and to build an overall picture of the research on the Chinese Communists'spiritual pedigree by taking a macro view from a micro perspective.
