A Research on the Cultural and Educational Interaction between Ming's Central Dynasty and Chieftain Yang in Bozhou
The cultural and educational interaction between the central dynasty and the local regime of ethnic minorities under its rule is an important means to consolidate national unity and strengthen the community of the Chinese nation.It is also a concrete manifestation of the diversity and unity of the Chinese national community.To strengthen its rule o-ver Bozhou,the Ming government engaged in active cultural and educational interaction with chieftain Yang in Bozhou under the national policy of"assimilating barbarians with Chinese civilization"and"ruling according to customs".In the interaction,their respective interest demands and games were showed,directly or indirectly,openly or secretly.These demands and games objectively created a reasonable space for both sides to communicate,exchange and integrate with each other and promoted them to show a conscious,orderly,harmonious,and positive development trend in Confu-cianism construction,Confucianism education,historical education,and funeral rites.Their cultural and educational in-teraction enhanced the recognition and acceptance of the culture and politics of the central dynasty among the officials and civilians in Bozhou,strengthened the rule of the Ming dynasty over Bozhou,and promoted the political survival of Chieftain Yang and the development of social economy and culture in Bozhou.
