Influence of E-commerce on Rural Residents'Income Increasing and on Income Distribution——Based on the Survey of China's Rural E-commerce Development in 2018
Using the survey data of China's rural e-commerce development in 2018,this paper analyzes the impact of e-commerce on rural households'per capita income and income distribution, aiming to provide new evidence for the influence of e-commerce on income and its distribution.Due to the selective bias caused by self-selection of samples, this paper uses the propensity score matching method to analyze the impact of e-commerce on the per capita income of rural households. The results show that the per capita income of rural residents participating in e-commerce is 83.6%higher than that of rural residents not participating in e-commerce.This paper further uses quantile regression and unconditional quantile regression to analyze the income distribution effect of e-commerce on rural residents. The results show that the income increasing effect of e-commerce on low-income families is far greater than that of medium and high-income families, which is conducive to improving the income distribution of rural residents.Based on the research conclusions, this paper suggests that the government actively promotes e-commerce in rural areas, providing certain policy support for rural residents'e-commerce entrepreneurship, and greatly improving the dividend of rural e-commerce so that rural residents'income continues to increase and income distribution improved.
