Bioinformatics analysis of the expression difference of ADAMTS6 in thyroid cancer and its clinical significance
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of ADAMTS6 gene in thyroid cancer through bioinformatics analysis. Methods Tumor data from TCGA database were downloaded from the UCSC Xena website, and Toil software was used for data extraction to analyze ADAMTS6 expression across various cancers.THPA database was utilized to analyze ADAMTS6 protein expression in thyroid cancer tissues.UALCAN database was employed to explore the relationship between ADAMTS6 gene expression and clinical pathological parameters in thyroid cancer patients.Kaplan-Meier database was used to assess the association between ADAMTS6 expression and prognosis in thyroid cancer patients.LinkedOmics database was utilized to investigate co-expressed genes with ADAMTS6 in thyroid cancer and perform gene enrichment and pathway enrichment analyses. Results ADAMTS6 was found to be highly expressed in most cancers. In thyroid cancer, both ADAMTS6 mRNA and protein levels were significantly upregulated. The expression levels of ADAMTS6 were closely associated with clinical pathological parameters of thyroid cancer.ADAMTS6 showed a co-expression with multiple genes, and GO and KEGG analyses indicated that its high expression of ADAMTS6 may be associated with cell metabolism,mobility,proliferation,NF-κB pathway, etc. Conclusion The expression of ADAMTS6 is significantly increased in thyroid cancer and correlates with clinical staging and prognosis of patients, suggesting it may serve as a potential diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for thyroid cancer.
