Electrochemical Performance of Cellulose/Xylan/Lignin-Based Char Materials
Biochar materials have shown broad prospects in the field of energy storage. To explore the effect of biomass on the electrochemical performance of biochar, biomass model compounds, including cellulose, xylan and lignin, were utilized to prepare three kinds of char through pyrolysis in tube furnace.Firstly, the thermogravimetric analysis of feedstocks was conducted. It showed that the thermogravimetry/differential thermogravimetry curves of the three raw materials were significantly different. Then the graphitization of these three chars and their electrochemical properties as anode materials were systematically investigated.X-ray diffraction results indicated similar graphitization crystallizations among the three kinds of char. The electrochemical testing results demonstrated that the cellulose char as anode material exhibited the highest sodium storage capacity, excellent rate performance, and fine recovery ability.
