Lorenz Scatterplot Characteristics and Correlation Analysis with Heart Rate Variability in Elderly Patients with Heart Failure and Reduced Ejection Fraction
Objective To investigate the Lorenz scatterplot characteristics and its association with heart rate variability(HRV)in elderly patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction(HFrEF).Methods 100 patients with HFrEF admitted to our hospital, they were used as the HFrEF group, and 100 healthy medical subjects who underwent physical examination during the same period were used as the control group. The Lorenz scatter plot characteristics and HRV indexes of the two groups were compared. Results The L,W,A values and L/W ratio of the Lorenz scatterplot in the HFrEF group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the HRV indexes SDNN,SDANN,r-MSSD and PNN50 in the HFrEF group were signifi-cantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The graphical features of Lorenz scatterplot in the HFrEF group were pre-dominantly torpedo shaped(36.0%),while those in the control group were mainly baseball bat shaped(89.0%).The difference in the graphical features of Lorenz scatterplot between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).In HFrEF patients, the long axis L showed a significant positive correlation with SDNN,SDANN(P<0.05),the short axis W showed a significant positive correlation with r-MSSD,PNN50(P<0.05),and the area A showed a significant positive correlation with SDNN,SDANN,r-MSSD,and PNN50(P<0.05).Conclusion The Lorenz scatter plot characteristics of patients with HFrEF are significantly corre-lated with HRV.It is of important clinical significance to use correlation to judge and treat the degree of heart failure in patients with cardiovascular diseases and improve the survival rate of elderly patients with HFrEF.
