The Environmental Factors on Induction of Diapause in Insects
Diapause in insects is the adaption of insects to adverse living conditions in long-term evolving and environment selection to insects. This paper has discussed the influence of environmental factors which are photoperiod, temperature, moisture and food on induction of diapause in insects. Among all environmental factors, photoperiod and temperature are the most important in induction of diapause. Moisture effects induction of diapause mainly by changing photoperiod and temperature of the response, Food as an adjustment factor of insect together with photoperiod and the temperature induce diapause. Food also can be a direct impact on the growing of insect in the equatorial region when photoperiod and the temperature are rarely happened and changes.
