A holistic approach to national security is the first major strategic thought in the history of our party to be established as the guiding ideology for national security work.It is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and is an important ideological and theoretical contribution of contemporary China to the world.A holistic approach to national security is rooted in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Faced with the major changes of a century,the greatest epidemic of the century,and the great leap forward in rejuvenation,my country's national security situation has undergone major changes.The tasks are arduous and arduous in promoting the modernization of the national security system and capabilities,resolving long-term accumulated institutional obstacles,structural contradictions,and policy issues,and building a solid security barrier for comprehensively building a modern socialist country.In order to implement a holistic approach to national security t and respond to the needs of the national security strategy,Southwest University of Political Science and Law was the first to establish the School of National Security among ordinary universities in the country on May 22,2018,to explore the construction of the discipline of national security and strengthen the basic theory of national security.Research and cultivate professionals urgently needed by the country.The school insists on giving full play to the basic advantages of the legal discipline,based on the"Two Centenary"strategic overall situation and historical orientation,and using the epistemology and methodology contained in the overall national security concept to deeply analyze the theoretical issues and practical requirements of national security in the process of Chinese modernization,focusing on Scientific research should be closely integrated with the needs of national security strategies,constantly explore new concepts,new thinking,and new methods that adapt to the needs of national security work in the new era,and constantly strengthen the systematic,scientific and forward-looking nature of national security theory,so as to promote the national security system and Capability modernization provides strong support and intellectual guarantee.
